Help us to organise safe and effective training, , , If you plan on training at Banneker, the summer, please decide only one of the two

Let us not forget that, for those who cannot make it to Banneker, lane space for Waterwizard practice will be available also at the Barry Farm, Deanwood, Rumsey and Turket Thicket pools all summer. Check the listed training schedule above and contact the facility manager.

Senior Competitive Swim Training

The DC Department of Parks and Recreation provides training for seniors ages 50 and older interested in competitive swimming. Through this training, seniors will learn the proper techniques of DC Senior Games competitive swimming with an emphasis on health, wellness and  safety (athletes perform at their own level). Participants will receive constructive feedback and encouragement. Athletes are encouraged to compete in the DC Senior Games and in the National Senior games.

Learning To Swim at 75? Why Not?

The Name of the DC Seniors Swim Team is “Water Wizards”. National records have been set by 87-94 year-old “Water Wizards”. The Public Broadcasting system (PBS) recently aired a “Silver Docs Film Festival” national award winning film, “The Age Of Champions”, featuring Bradford and John Tatum, two of the “Water Wizards”.
